Martin is a multi-award winning, highly skilled, Creative Director with a wide range of skills in design, advertising, branding, print, illustration, UX, UI & digital. Martin provides design direction and consultancy for national & international clients.
An excellent advocate for design at board level, Martin has the ability to align design strategy with business goals, for organisations to use and implement design in the enhancement and differentiation of their brands and products. Martin’s clear no-nonsense approach gives clear direction and highlights the business effectiveness of good design. As a Creative Director Martin has managed a wide range of team types, from start-ups where he’s worn every creative hat thought to managing teams across studios in London New York and Sydney and working as a consultant for Blue Chip companies.
In the past 18 years, Martin’s work has ranged from advertising campaigns for international corporations such as Microsoft, Santander, 20th Century Fox, to graphic, UX and UI design for companies such as Liveposter, Dentsu Aegis, SSE, Waitrose, Pernod Richard. Martin has also worked with a significant number of award-winning SMEs on branding and product development. This varied career has been recognised with over 20 industry awards, the highlight being two Cannes Lions.
Key to Martin’s abilities is his skill in getting to the heart of the brief, working with clients/stakeholders to help them define their actual needs and to drive effective design that exceeds client expectations to provide measurable returns. This knowledge has seen Martin give regular talks at the AIB and the University of Westminster as well as numerous Creative Agencies.
Design also extends into Martin’s personal life. Martin enjoys being a mentor to design students and a speaker on professional practice with the University of Westminster to help equip them for what life is really like outside of university. Martin was also a founder member of Designed in Devon (part of the Design Council), former Chair of the Torbay Chapter and regularly helps with Non-Profits and local groups.
